Lu and the Ghost (Click) Fernando García-pleigo

Lourdes, a 12-year-old girl, generous, talkative, but very childish, helps her sister Victoria, four years older than her, to prepare a party. When Victoria asks her to be absent on the day of the celebration, because "it's a party for older people," knowing that she is not invited, Lourdes feels deeply betrayed. To get revenge, in the absence of her sister, the girl writes an email posing as Victoria. The consequences of this shipment will go far beyond what Lourdes could ever have foreseen, to the point that the comfortable and trusting world in which the girl lived collapses almost in an instant. Adult life will welcome her with its most bitter and dramatic face.

It is the story of a young boy who has lost an arm in the war trying to help his superior who has decided to commit suicide. He is at home in the middle of winter with an ex-combatant's salary that the government gives him that is not enough to rent a room and be able to eat. One day he goes out into the open and walks through the forest thinking about the war and the consequences it has left on other ex-combatants, he spends the night outside with his thoughts and wakes up frozen to death from the cold. The short film begins with images of the Serra de Tramontana completely covered in snow and then immediately gives way to seeing the ex-combatant dressed in civilian clothes wandering through the forest lost in his thoughts (we see images of the First World War, images from YouTube) and immediately afterwards we see images of former soldiers and the consequences that the First World War has left on them (YouTube images). The poem that appears in the short film is by an English author named Wilfred Owen, who died in the First World War, the translation by Jordi Fité. The book is titled War Poems and the poem is called Malalts Mentals (in English: Mental Cases). The music is free, taken from an internet page. Everything that appears in the short film is designed so that you do not have to pay any copyright fees since the things are either free or their authors have been dead for more than 70 years.
